LinkedIn across Europe
LinkedIn ghostwriting and personal branding agency for Europe
Europe is not one LinkedIn audience. A Munich CFO, an Amsterdam fintech founder and a Stockholm engineer-turned-CEO read the same feed in different languages, with different tolerance for self-promotion. We write for each of them, remotely from India.

The short answer
A LinkedIn ghostwriting agency for Europe writes posts in your voice, in the language your buyers actually read (English, German, French or a mix), rewrites your profile and engages with your buyers. In Europe it also has to respect GDPR, national advertising law and finfluencer rules. Postlit works remotely from India, 3.5 to 4.5 hours ahead of Central Europe.
What a European LinkedIn ghostwriting agency actually does
A LinkedIn ghostwriting and personal branding agency for Europe interviews you once a month, writes 3 to 5 posts a week in your voice, rewrites your profile and comments on your buyers' posts. The European part is the hard part: choosing the right language per market, matching each country's tolerance for self-promotion, and staying inside GDPR, national advertising law and the financial promotion rules that now explicitly cover social media.
Most agencies treat Europe as "the UK plus some translations". That fails quickly. A post that reads as confident in Dublin reads as arrogant in Stockholm and as unserious in a Frankfurt boardroom. The country pages linked below go deep on each market. This page is the map.
How LinkedIn use differs across European markets
User numbers below are NapoleonCat's September 2026 counts (linked on each country page). Tone and ICP columns are our working observations, not survey data.
| Country | LinkedIn users (Sept 2026) | Language that performs | Tone readers reward | Typical ICP we write for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| United Kingdom | 52.7M | British English | Dry, understated, specific | Fintech founders, partners, B2B SaaS |
| France | 40.1M | French first, English for investors | Argued, intellectual, structured | Station F founders, CAC 40 executives |
| Germany | 27.1M | German for Mittelstand, English for startups | Precise, evidence-heavy, formal | Mittelstand owners, Berlin and Munich founders |
| Netherlands | 15M | English is the default | Direct, blunt, low on ceremony | Fintech, payments, logistics, deeptech |
| Sweden | 6.75M | English for tech, Swedish for domestic | Modest, team-first, data-led | Stockholm product founders, impact investors |
| Switzerland | 5.76M | German, French or English by region | Discreet, measured, no client names | Private bankers, pharma, commodities |
| Ireland | 4.03M | Irish and international English | Warm, storytelling, self-deprecating | EMEA leaders at US tech, Irish founders |
Two patterns matter more than any single number. First, penetration varies wildly: NapoleonCat puts Dutch LinkedIn users at 85.2% of the population and Irish users at 77%, compared with roughly 60% in France and Sweden, so a Dutch or Irish founder's buyers are almost all reachable on the platform. Second, language is a strategic choice, not a translation task. The EF English Proficiency Index 2025 ranks the Netherlands first of 123 countries, Germany fourth and Sweden eighth, which is why English-only posting works for many Dutch and Swedish founders but leaves money on the table with a German family-owned manufacturer.

GDPR basics for LinkedIn content and outreach
This is general orientation, not legal advice. Your DPO or counsel has the final word.
- Posts contain personal data more often than founders think. A screenshot of a customer's message, a team photo, a named client win or a candidate story all involve personal data. We anonymise by default and only name people with their written permission.
- Outreach needs a lawful basis. B2B outreach often relies on "legitimate interests" under GDPR Article 6(1)(f), but the EDPB's 2024 guidelines on legitimate interest stress that this is a balancing test, not an automatic pass for direct marketing.
- "Stop" means stop. Under Article 21 GDPR a person can object to direct marketing at any time, and once they do, their data can no longer be processed for that purpose. When we triage DMs for you, an opt-out is logged and respected.
- Email is stricter than LinkedIn. Exporting LinkedIn contacts into a cold email sequence brings in national e-privacy and unfair competition rules. Germany is the strictest case, covered on our Germany page.
- Switzerland and the UK are outside the EU GDPR, with their own laws (the revised Swiss FADP and the UK GDPR). The principles are similar; the details are not.
Advertising and finfluencer rules across Europe
In January 2026 ESMA, the EU securities regulator, published a factsheet for finfluencers with national regulators. Its core messages: telling followers what to buy can amount to regulated investment advice, a "this is not investment advice" disclaimer does not reliably protect you, and paid content must be clearly labelled. National rules then add their own layer: the AFM in the Netherlands, the AMF and the 2023 influencer law in France, BaFin in Germany, Finansinspektionen in Sweden, the Central Bank of Ireland's revised Consumer Protection Code, and FINMA plus the Financial Services Act in Switzerland. Each country page explains the version that applies.
For a founder of a regulated firm the working rule is consistent across markets: journey, team, hiring and market commentary are usually fine; posts that pitch a product, quote returns or invite sign-ups go through compliance first. We mark those posts in every batch. If you plan to promote posts, read our guide to Thought Leader Ads first, because a boosted post is unambiguously advertising.
Time zones: how India and Europe overlap
India Standard Time is UTC+5:30. Central Europe (Germany, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden) runs on CET (UTC+1) in winter and CEST (UTC+2) in summer, so India is 4.5 hours ahead in winter and 3.5 hours ahead in summer. Ireland and the UK sit one hour further west. EU clocks move back on 25 October 2026.
| Your time (CET, winter) | India time | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| 08:00 | 12:30 | Your week's drafts are already in your inbox |
| 09:00 to 12:00 | 13:30 to 16:30 | Monthly voice interview, edits, live comments on your buyers' posts |
| 13:00 to 15:00 | 17:30 to 19:30 | DM triage, warm conversations flagged to you |
| Afternoon | Evening | Asynchronous only; no Indian-morning calls needed |
Indian mornings do not overlap Europe at all, so we never ask you for an early call. European mornings overlap Indian afternoons, which is when your buyers are most active on LinkedIn anyway.
What it costs in euros, francs and kronor
We do not publish our own prices. As a market reference, Gliped's 2026 guide puts entry-level retainers at $500 to $1,500 a month, mid-market agencies at $2,000 to $5,000 and premium work at $6,000 to $10,000 or more. Converted at the ECB euro reference rates of 19 October 2026 (1 EUR = 1.1225 USD), that is roughly €450 to €1,350, €1,800 to €4,450 and €5,350 to €8,900 or more a month. The Swiss and Swedish pages give franc and krona figures from the same reference date. Our cost guide has the full breakdown.
How Postlit works with European leaders
We are remote and India-based, with no European office. Every European client works with us asynchronously.
- Send a short form by WhatsApp or email. A founder replies with a written free LinkedIn teardown (the three changes we would make first), usually within a few hours IST, which lands during your European working day. A 30-minute call follows only if it looks like a fit.
- Interview, positioning and language plan. One 45-minute voice interview, a personal branding strategy and a decision on which language each pillar runs in.
- We write, you approve. Three to five posts a week, sent as a weekly batch. Posts that could count as promotion are flagged for your compliance team.
- We engage and report. Daily comments on your buyers' posts, warm DMs flagged, a monthly report.
Our co-founder Deepanshu Udhwani, who runs growth and systems, is a Toptal Verified Expert in Marketing. Toptal says it accepts the top 3% of applicants, a filter many European buyers already use when hiring US and remote talent. Engagements are scoped on a call; first posts typically go live within two weeks. See LinkedIn ghostwriting for what is included.

Frequently asked questions
Should European founders post on LinkedIn in English or their local language?
It depends on who buys from you. Dutch and Swedish founders selling internationally usually do well in English, since those countries rank first and eighth in EF's 2025 English index. German Mittelstand buyers and French corporate buyers respond better to German and French. Many founders run one pillar in English for investors and another in the local language for customers.
Is LinkedIn outreach legal under GDPR?
Generally yes, if done carefully. B2B outreach usually relies on legitimate interests, which requires a genuine balancing test rather than an automatic assumption. Anyone can object to direct marketing at any time under Article 21 GDPR, and you must stop once they do. Moving LinkedIn contacts into cold email is riskier, especially in Germany, where unsolicited promotional email needs prior consent.
Can an India-based agency handle European time zones?
Yes. India is 3.5 hours ahead of Central Europe in summer and 4.5 hours in winter, so European mornings overlap Indian afternoons. Interviews and live engagement happen in your morning, drafts arrive before your week starts, and nothing requires an early-morning call on the Indian side. Postlit works fully remotely and has no European office.
How much does a LinkedIn ghostwriter cost in Europe?
Published market ranges are mostly in US dollars: about $500 to $1,500 a month for freelancers, $2,000 to $5,000 for mid-market agencies and $6,000 to $10,000 or more for premium programmes. At ECB reference rates on 19 October 2026 that is roughly €450 to €8,900 or more a month, depending on scope, language and seniority.
Do finfluencer rules apply to a fintech founder's LinkedIn posts?
They can. ESMA's January 2026 factsheet says recommendations to followers may amount to investment advice and that disclaimers do not reliably protect you. A founder discussing their journey is usually fine, but posts that pitch products, quote returns or invite sign-ups should go through compliance in every EU market.
