LinkedIn for London leaders
LinkedIn ghostwriting agency for London fintech and professional services leaders
London rewards understatement and punishes hype. We write LinkedIn for the City's fintech founders, partners and senior executives in a British voice, with the FCA's financial promotion rules in mind.

The short answer
A LinkedIn ghostwriting agency for London leaders writes in a British register (understated, precise, lightly self-deprecating) and keeps fintech and financial services posts within the FCA's expectation that promotions are fair, clear and not misleading. Postlit is a remote team in India, 4.5 to 5.5 hours ahead of London, and scopes engagements on a call.
London is not a smaller New York
Many London leaders have tried an American-style ghostwriter and stopped after a month. The posts were confident, upbeat and full of "crushing it". London readers found them faintly embarrassing. The UK professional voice works by understatement: the result is mentioned rather than celebrated, the lesson is often at the writer's own expense, and enthusiasm is rationed.
London's audience is also unusually concentrated in sectors with rules. The City and Canary Wharf host banks, insurers, asset managers and one of the world's densest fintech scenes, from well-known names like Revolut, Monzo and Wise to hundreds of B2B infrastructure companies. Around them sit the law firms, Big Four and consulting practices that advise them. Every one of these readers can spot a financial promotion that has wandered off-script.
Who we write for in London
| Leader | LinkedIn goal | Content angle |
|---|---|---|
| Fintech founder or C-suite | Bank partners, enterprise clients, hires | Regulatory journey, product reasoning, risk thinking |
| Partner at a law, accounting or consulting firm | Client trust and referrals | Sector insight, plain explanations of change, people stories |
| Asset or wealth management executive | Distribution and reputation | Market structure in general terms, investor education, team culture |
| Founder relocating from India | UK network and first clients | Why London, cross-border lessons, both-market credibility |
| Insurance or insurtech leader | Broker and partner relationships | Claims and risk stories, market reform, technology adoption |
Our fintech founders, consultants and lawyers pages cover each group in more depth.
The FCA and your LinkedIn posts
If your firm is FCA-authorised, a LinkedIn post that promotes a financial product or service can be a financial promotion. The FCA's finalised guidance FG24/1, published in March 2024, makes clear that the rules are technology neutral: promotions on social media must be fair, clear and not misleading, and should give a balanced view of benefits and risks. Firms remain responsible for promotions they communicate or cause to be made.
In practice, for a founder or senior manager at a regulated firm, that means:
- Separate thought leadership from promotion. A post about why open banking adoption stalled is commentary. A post that invites readers to open an account is a promotion and needs the firm's financial promotion sign-off.
- No headline rates, returns or "risk-free" language in a personal post unless your compliance team has approved the full promotion.
- Care with product launches. Announcing a launch is fine. Describing its benefits without the matching risks can cross the line.
Law firm partners and accountants have their own professional conduct rules on publicity. We write within whatever your firm's policy requires and never describe a draft as approved.
UK voice versus US voice
| American default | What we write for London |
|---|---|
| "Thrilled to announce..." | "Some news. We have..." |
| "We crushed Q3" | "Q3 went better than we planned, mostly for reasons we did not plan" |
| Big personal origin story | One specific moment, told with restraint |
| "Hustle" and "grind" | Judgement, craft, a dry aside |
| US spelling | British spelling and dates (organisation, 20 October) |
A hook we might draft for a hypothetical London payments COO: "We spent eight months on our FCA authorisation. The most useful thing I learned had nothing to do with the application form."
What to avoid on London LinkedIn
- Political commentary on the government, Brexit or tax policy, unless that is genuinely your field. It splits your audience and rarely wins clients.
- Name-dropping clients, which many professional services firms prohibit without written consent.
- Overclaiming AI. London's fintech and legal readers are sceptical of vague AI promises, and posts written by AI tools are increasingly easy to spot. Our drafts are human-written.
Time zones and logistics
India is 4.5 hours ahead of London during British Summer Time and 5.5 hours ahead in winter (UK clocks go back on 25 October 2026). This is one of the best overlaps we have: a 9am London call is early afternoon in India, so the monthly interview and any revisions can happen in a shared working day.
Budget context in pounds
Most published LinkedIn ghostwriting rates are quoted in US dollars. Converted at the European Central Bank's 19 October 2026 reference rates, the 2026 ranges from The Digital Writing Firm come to roughly:
| Tier | USD per month | Approx. GBP per month |
|---|---|---|
| Entry freelancer | $500 to $1,200 | £375 to £900 |
| Mid-tier specialist | $1,500 to $3,500 | £1,125 to £2,625 |
| Executive program | $5,000 to $15,000+ | £3,750 to £11,250+ |

How Postlit works with London leaders
We are a remote, India-based team with no London office.
- Send a short form via WhatsApp or email. A founder replies, usually within a few hours IST, with a written free LinkedIn teardown of the three changes we would make first. A 30-minute call follows only if it is a fit.
- Interview and positioning. A 45-minute voice interview, a profile rewrite in British English and a 90-day personal branding plan.
- We write, you approve, with drafts flagged where a financial promotion or professional conduct review may be needed.
- We engage and report. Comments on the posts of the clients, partners and investors you want to reach, warm DMs flagged, and a monthly report. For national context see our UK page.
Engagements are scoped on a call.

Frequently asked questions
Do FCA financial promotion rules apply to LinkedIn posts?
They can. The FCA's FG24/1 guidance says promotions on social media must be fair, clear and not misleading, with a balanced view of benefits and risks, and firms remain responsible for promotions they communicate or cause. General commentary is usually fine. Posts that invite readers to use a financial product need your firm's financial promotion approval.
Can an India-based ghostwriter write in a British voice?
Yes, if they deliberately write for UK readers: British spelling and dates, understatement, fewer superlatives and a drier tone than US LinkedIn. Ask for samples written for UK clients and a test post from your own interview. Every Postlit draft goes through your approval before it posts.
How much does a LinkedIn ghostwriter cost in London?
Published 2026 rates are mostly in US dollars. Converted at mid-October 2026 rates, mid-tier specialists come to roughly £1,125 to £2,625 a month and executive programs from about £3,750 to over £11,000. Postlit does not publish prices and scopes each engagement on a call.
What is the time difference between London and India?
India is 4.5 hours ahead of London during British Summer Time and 5.5 hours ahead in winter. A morning in London overlaps with the afternoon in India, so interviews and revisions can happen within a shared working day. Postlit works with London clients fully remotely.
What should a London law or consulting partner post on LinkedIn?
Plain explanations of changes affecting clients, sector observations from real (anonymised) work, and stories about developing people. Avoid naming clients without written consent and anything your firm's publicity policy restricts. Understated, specific posts build more trust with UK buyers than announcements of wins.
